Jeff Knaggs - Genealogy - the RUNDLE Family

The Dictionary of Surnames gives RUNDLE (and variations) as an English (mainly Devon and Cornwall) nickname from the diminuative of ROUND - meaning plump.
Other works give the original meaning as either a bull, the round rung of a ladder, or the roundel of an archery target.
